A new design for an existing WordPress website
Stacey Pledge is a Freelance PPC Specialist based in Exeter who I have worked with on previous projects. Stacey wanted to shift the focus of her website and incorporate a refreshed design in the process that would better showcase what she has to offer to clients. Having used a theme previously Stacey wanted a custom design and build.
Planning the WordPress design and build
The client needed 10 pages including home page, about page, 4 service pages, case study template, blog template and contact page. The website project was split into two parts, design and development. During the initial design phase the client supplied me with text content for each page, which was divided into desired sections. I would then create designs for desktop and mobile which would help ensure that some of the more complicated features translated well across all platforms.
Features and functionality
The final site included the following.
- Responsive design that works across desktop, tablet and mobile
- Custom blog page and blog post template
- Case study page and single case study template
- Premium SEO plugin integration
- Custom illustrations for each of the 4 services
- Site speed optimisation resulting in a loading time < 2 seconds
Summary
The final website gives the user a clean, elegant and modern experience and allows the client to share her services, how she works and value proposition to potential clients more clearly. The client is able to publish new blog posts and case studies herself, and the templating system means any future updates to pages can be made easily.
